If there are ever more than the 4 item types we see now, it would be quite cool to pick and chose who gets what depending on the map and what squads youve got to bring along, instead of the current "you got this item, so you either equip it and live with it forever, meaning you cant equip what you deem to be a more useful item on that unit or you save it and dont use the item and have it gathering dust in your inventory, not even being upgradable until its given to a unit". When picking an island, it would be fun to not only decide on the squad but what items you decide to give to each squad before the fight starts. I know every item has its purpose, but i feel that allowing some less rigid experimentation would add some variation in the game. I understand why locking in items is a thing, since upgrading them and then transfering them to different units would damage the "veterency" based gold economy, however i think it might be useful to allow the de equiping and re equiping of items.
